➡️ Stay in flow while organizing with smarter Move & Delete behavior

We’ve made some small but important changes to how Move and Delete work—designed to reduce friction and help you keep momentum while organizing your notes.

Keep moving forward

Previously, when moving or deleting a note you would stay on the note which had just been moved or deleted—potentially disrupting your workflow. Now, when you take either action, the next note in your list automatically opens, so you can keep working without interruption.

On the other hand, if you prefer to quickly go to the note you just moved or deleted, just click the link in the confirmation banner that appears after the action.

Made a mistake? Undo it instantly

No more scrambling if you move or delete something by accident. An Undo banner now appears right after the action, so you can easily reverse any unwanted changes.

A cleaner, sharper Move modal

We also gave the Move modal a round of polish to make it more reliable and easier to use:

👉 You can now create a new notebook or space directly from the modal
👉 The modal now shows the name of the note being moved

No more unexpected disruptions or deletions—making it easier than ever to stay on task.

⚡ Your notebook list now loads up to 2x faster on Desktop

Here’s how we achieved this result:

Before, every time you opened the notebook list, Evernote would run multiple queries—in this case, we were processing a whopping 21 requests each time!

By migrating the entire process to a single query, we not only halved loading time, but we also saw a 50% reduction in the CPUs needed to load the list. As a result, your notebook list is smoother and faster to navigate than ever before.

Make sure you're using v10.130 or higher on Desktop to experience the speed improvements for yourself. Plus, keep an eye out for similar improvements coming soon to Mobile. 👀

⚡️ Snappier Mobile editor loading, note opening, and note creation

Our Performance Squad has been hard at work speeding things up in Evernote Mobile—and the results speak for themselves:

📱iOS: 96.5% of users load the editor in under 1 second (up from 76%)
🤖Android: 97% of users load the editor in under 2 seconds (up from 69%)

We also made the process of opening and creating notes in Android faster for a much larger portion of the user base (+23% and +15% respectively!).

Here's how we achieved these great results:
🔹To see a note, the Evernote mobile app needs to load it inside the note editor.
🔹Before, the note editor was re-loaded every time a different note was opened.
🔹Now, the note editor is loaded in the background when the app starts, and is used for all the notes opened and created thereafter.

Make sure you’re using v.10.133 or higher on your Mobile device to take advantage of these improvements. We hope to bring you an even faster experience soon!

2 Editor improvements you might have missed 👀

1) Custom font sizes. Go beyond the pre-set options and choose any whole number (whether it’s font size 2 to 200) for ultimate flexibility.

2) Sleeker Transcribe toolbar on images. Easily extract text from images with a more subtle, non-intrusive overlay.

Check out both improvements in action in this quick video 👇

Evernote’s PDF & image editor just got a makeover 💅

We recently rewrote the code that powers Evernote Skitch, the software we use for in-app PDF and image editing. In doing so, we fixed some long-standing bugs and freshened up the design for a smoother overall experience.

Try it for yourself! Available in version 10.130 on Desktop, Web, and Mobile.

✏️ Customize your Daily Notes

Now, Evernote gives you even more control over your daily notes! Previously, we offered three default options: a to-do list, a daily journal, and an agenda. With our latest update, you can personalize your daily notes to better fit your workflow.

What’s new:

- Edit default daily notes. Love our existing templates but need to tweak them? Now, you can! All default daily notes are pre-loaded in your Templates tab—just customize them to match your needs.

- Set a custom daily note. Want something completely unique? Create your own daily note template and set it as your default. Just head to Settings > Templates and choose the one that works best for you.

- Pick where your notes go. By default, daily notes are saved in the "Daily Notes" notebook. But now, you can choose a different notebook to keep things organized your way.

Daily Notes enhancements are available in version 10.129 on Desktop, Web, and Mobile.

Share your spaces for maximum collaboration 🤝

It’s now possible for individual Evernote users to share their spaces with other individuals. Simply click Share in a space, add the recipients, select their permissions, and go!

Shareable individual spaces are rolling out now in v.10.127 on Desktop, Web, and Mobile.

As a reminder, Spaces for individuals are currently in beta, which means we’re working on releasing more improvements every week!

P.S. Some important things to keep in mind:

  • When you share a space with someone, they’ll be able to view, edit, and reshare everything in that space. You can also choose to share only specific notes and notebooks within the space while keeping the overall space private.
  • If you invite an individual user who has an Evernote account, they’ll receive an email invitation to join the space.
  • If you invite an individual user who does not have an Evernote account, they’ll receive an email notification prompting them to create an account and then contact the sender to reshare the space.
  • It’s not currently possible to share spaces between individual and Teams accounts. As before, Teams users can share spaces with other people within their organization.
  • Anyone invited to a individual space needs to have the latest version of Evernote installed to experience the complete Spaces experience.
